That is why it is important to use a National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) facility that has a record of the uncertainty obtained during the accreditation process. This correlation process reflects on absolute accuracy and uncertainty, as compared directly to the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST).

NVLAP accreditation requires an annual renewal to guarantee continued calibrator performance.
